I genuinely remembered that there will be a new post from you this morning, and got excited a bit.
Of course, you didn't disappoint! Van Gogh is my favourite artist, I often think about his sadness and I totally agree on this. You really have a deep understanding of human emotional states, I love it! ⭐
Wow I don't even knew about the full story behind Vicent and it's very VERY sad... as an artist I can emphasize with the feeling of being sad, depressed or had this urge of being seen and feel loved. It's like an old myth that artist can make their best work in agony and I trying myself for a long long time but I think for our mental health it's not worth it. I rather instead hold to the faith and thought that better days are coming and I can create masterpieces in a happy state too. I really enjoy your post. It's make me thinking a lot about my next steps in my own art.
As a fan of Van Gogh since I first studied him in my art history class and visited his museum, this was such well written prose of this life 😌 I would also recommend checking out Mathew Wong, he had some pieces features in the Van Gogh museum this past spring
This was such an interesting read! I think that everyone experiences pain, suffering, darkness in their lives, and some of us are lucky to turn it into art. I think some people are more sensitive, they feel more, and they observe more too, and that's why they are drawn to art. Life circumstances can play a role too. Maybe you weren't shown music, or dance, or painting. But I think all of us have it in us.
I think that no matter what, life will always bring both joy and suffering, and for that reason, I think artists are always going to be inspired, but now and then we get to see the work of artists who truly have had crazy intense painful life experiences like van gogh, and seeing their art can be such an interesting experience.

I’m so glad!
It’s always made me sad that my favorite artists in any medium have had tough lives, but in a selfish way I’m very grateful.
They wouldn’t be what they are now without it.

Thanks 💙
And thank you for staying and reading, I really appreciate it 💚
May your journey be filled with happy memories, but the bad times should also come to fruition 💚
I only knew about his famous artworks but after reading this I realized he created 900 pieces?! I loved this Milka ♡
Riiiight?! And he only started painting when he was 27!
A true genius and troubled soul.

Thank you so much! I will definitely check him out 💚
Love this! I've just been commissioned to write a play about van Gogh so am reading a lot about what resonates most with people
That’s wonderful! I hope this helped at least a little 🫶
